Anyway, here is the poem, also lyrics for the song I recently wrote on the ukulele (really getting into playing my uke, Schmidt – my guitar, Taka is slightly jealous).:

Searching For…
One and Two
Three and Four
Just a little bit further
Just a little bit more
At the edge of the world
That’s where I’ll be
Waiting for you
Waiting for me
Past the here and now
Standing patiently
Will you finally see me?
Will you finally see
Past the here and now
That’s when I’ll be
Two souls
Lost in a haze
Two souls
Trapped in a maze
Stumbling through our time
Fumbling with our days
Making it all more difficult
Just to end on the same result
Why is life so hard?
So, filled with strife
Is this the constant work
What’s intended for a good life?
But all I see
Past the horizon line
Is more of life without you
Without me
Just two souls lost
Lost at sea
Drifting further and further apart
Only a wisp of who could be
Past the here and now
Past the you and me
At the edge of the world
That’s where I’ll be standing
Waiting for you
Waiting for me
One and Two
Three and Four
Just a little bit further
Just a little bit more
Could it ever be “we?”
I think we are always searching for something in life. When it comes to soul mates Aristotle said (from what I’ve read with cursory Googling), “Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies.” Now, that doesn’t mean you have to marry your soul mate. It means there is this other half of you out there that makes you feel complete.
It could be your BFF or that someone in your life like for me, a muse. It’s the one that makes my soul sing, words borne from the emptiness, and when you are cold your only warmth.
This is obviously only a viewpoint. Some don’t believe in soul mates. I think some people have several special people through their life.
But honestly, I kind of agree with Aristotle.
I hope you all find what you’re searching and seeking for 🙂
Goodnight Gracie! 🙂 ❤
Beautiful.
I believe in soul mates and twin flames and all of it. I’m missing one of my soul mates, haven’t spoke to her in about 4 years. I still cry when I think of her, I see her often but can’t bring myself to tell her how much I miss her because I’m afraid it’s too late for us to forgive the past. And she’s crazy lol. But that’s what I loved about her the most.
… and she’s crazy lol. Yep, that could mess things up.
Sorry you’re missing your friend. 😦
I have friends like that too. They are my muses and just inspire me to write better or more or just… deeper?
