I Don’t Know Why – Poetry

I just finished reading a very readable little book, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, by Stephen Chbosky. My daughter recommended it as one of her favorite books.  I felt like I was reading a little section of her soul when I read it.  I’ll try to write a little overview/review later.  For now, here’s a little poem.

I don’t know where I’m headed

I Don’t Know Why

I don’t know why

I miss you so much

I look at photos and videos I made

I think of times we laughed like goofs

And sadly spoofed

Our way through our sadness

I don’t know why

I think of you so

To the point my mind drifts

Longer than morning tides

And drifts of snow

As it piles along the road’s side

I don’t know why

I still love you

Every sign states we just don’t fit

An ox and a rabbit? A Sag and Pisces?

Who’d ever heard of matching that?

Heading into a steaming haze

Once water meets the blaze

I don’t why

We seemed to always fit

I don’t know why

Thinking of you

Missing you

Knowing I’d only love you

I can only sit alone and cry

Because… because

I just don’t know why

I hope you are all about to have a fantastic weekend of searching and seeking and finding what you find.

Love you and goodnight Gracie 🙂 ❤
